What you'll be doing:
* Provide the management leadership and control of the Veolia internal workshop.
* Support operational performance by ensuring the availability of legally compliant & safe vehicles.
* Manage the servicing schedule for up to 120 vehicles, 3.5t upwards, ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest standard for effective service delivery.
* Collate reports on fleet performance, approve quotes for all works carried out, and maintain the business relationship and overall performance of all transport external repairs & suppliers.
* Manage a team of up to 20 staff, including skilled fitters, semi-skilled fitters, apprentices, and fleet administrators.
* Liaise with supervisors and department managers on their requirements, providing specialist advice and assistance where required.
* Responsible for the cost-effective procurement for parts & maintenance of the fleet.
* Plan and organize work for staff.
* Improve the efficiency of the fleet, with the view to reduce accidents & costs, whilst improving standards.
* Ensure compliance with all Company, Health & Safety policies and procedures; compliance with Legislative requirements as required.
* Create, communicate, and train staff on Policies and Procedures, including those covering Health & Safety, within the operational teams.
What we're looking for:
* Previous management/supervisory experience - 5 years minimum.
* In-depth knowledge of a wide range of vehicles.
* An organized individual with people skills and the ability to make decisions.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
