About the role: As Employee Relations Manager you will act as a trusted advisor to all departments, working with people managers to support and advise managers on difficult people issues, advising on UK and Irish employment/labour law. Working closely with trade unions and employee representatives and supporting the Senior HRBP’s by to manage complex people issues. You will develop people manager capability and influence their thinking on people issues by pro-actively supporting them to reach a resolution. You will take the lead on developing and refreshing all HR policies, gaining agreement with Snr HRBP’s and Business Leaders. On a daily basis you'll be responsible for: Overall management of ER cases including complex cases, such as disciplinary, grievances and appeals Maintain a detailed case management log for discussion with Snr HRBP’s and HRD. Accountable for the ER/IR approach & delivery by coaching managers, developing an approach to employee consultation, and by ensuring a solid understanding and compliance with employment law, risk mitigation and good ethical standards of behaviour. Providing accurate and timely first line ER advice to the business. Coaching and guiding People Managers to drive a high-performance culture and develop their people management capability. Supporting the HRLT where necessary with administrative duties on confidential matters. Manage the relationship with relevant external HR partners, legal advisors and our Occupational Health Provider. Lead/participate in HR Project Work to continue to drive efficiencies and process improvement. Responsible for the management and creation of all people policies, ensuring relevant legislation is updated as and when required. Support SHRBPs and HRD during periods of organizational change, including organisation design, TUPE/M&A activity, employee and union consultations, and management of redundancy processes. Overseeing all people practices ensures they are legally compliant. Line management of an ER Advisor and HR Advisor apprentice. Supporting the development of their knowledge and capability through knowledge sharing, coaching and case work exposure and reviewing their performance. About you: Be at least CIPD Level 5 Have proven ER experience working in a fast-paced, demanding and varied HR environment. Experience of working within manufacturing would be an advantage Good and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation. Knowledge of Irish employment law is desirable but not essential. Ability to challenge key stakeholders Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities across a variety of HR issues Ability to navigate towards a pragmatic solution whilst minimizing risk, upholding consistency and performance standards and considering the commercial impact of any decision. Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders in the business from employee to functional head level. Excellent communication, written, numerical skills and IT skills Excellent planning and organizational skills with a good eye for detail. Good knowledge of employment law is needed, plus excellent understanding of the different HR policies and application. What we offer: Our package is made up of basic salary plus a variable incentive.
