SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Wilmslow Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to help them engage with the curriculum, achieve their potential, and develop confidence in their abilities. Key Responsibilities 1:1 Support : Work on a one-to-one basis with students with SEN, providing tailored assistance to meet their individual needs. Small Group Interventions : Support small groups of students, focusing on literacy, numeracy, social skills, and emotional development. Classroom Support : Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons, ensuring all students can access the curriculum effectively. Promoting Inclusion : Create a supportive and inclusive environment to encourage participation and engagement among SEN students. Behavioral Support : Help manage challenging behaviors by implementing de-escalation strategies and promoting positive reinforcement. Individualized Learning Plans : Assist in implementing and monitoring progress against Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Physical and Emotional Support : Provide care and supervision to students with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, or emotional needs. Resource Preparation : Help prepare and adapt learning resources to suit the diverse needs of SEN students. Liaison : Communicate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent support for students. Progress Monitoring : Track and report on student progress, helping to adjust strategies where needed. What We’re Looking For Experience with SEN : Prior experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, such as autism (ASC), ADHD, dyslexia, or SEMH, is highly desirable. Patient and Nurturing Approach : A caring and empathetic demeanor, with a passion for helping young people achieve their full potential. Strong Communication Skills : The ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families. Adaptability : A flexible and proactive approach to meeting the unique and evolving needs of students. Relevant Qualifications : While not essential, a background in education, psychology, childcare, or related fields is advantageous.
