About Us:
The Ted Noffs Foundation services are focused on helping young people with drug, crime and mental health issues and have achieved significant success. We run services across NSW, ACT and QLD with over 150 staff and nearly 300 volunteers committed to helping disadvantaged young Australians.
The Role:
Noffs has an exciting opportunity for a technically competent, organised and dynamic individual to provide support to our Street University Manager to deliver our suite of programs and services across South East QLD.
The Intake & Admin Officer plays a key role in providing referral, intake, and administrative support for the QLD Outreach Counselling and Street University teams across Queensland. As the first point of contact for young people (our clients) and support services (our partners) who wish to engage with Noffs programs and counselling, this role is critical in facilitating access to our services.
The Intake & Admin Officer is responsible for managing referrals for a large-scale counselling program that serves a wide geographical region, spanning from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast and extending west to the Darling Downs and Moreton regions. The role operates under the direction of three Outreach Counselling Program Managers, ensuring smooth intake processes and administrative efficiency across multiple service areas.
The successful candidate will be based at The Street University Southport and travel to the Street University Logan fortnightly (car provided).
The Street Universities are non-residential treatment centres that help those aged 12 – 25 with drug, crime and mental health issues. Each centre is unique and is a safe environment where young people can engage in workshops ranging from music and dance to computer coding. Evidence-based counselling is available to help our youth reduce their drug use and involvement in crime and to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Responsibilities and duties include:
* Manage the entire intake process from assessment to entry.
* First point of contact for all inquiries including potential clients and referrers.
* Key communication conduit both internally and externally for The Street Universities Southport and Logan.
* Build rapport with clients, including gathering key information (clinical and personal) and undertake a risk assessment.
* Maintain confidentiality and a standard of professional behaviour.
* Assist with general administration duties including but not limited to: quotes, invoices, petty cash, record keeping, collations of statistics, timesheet, rosters, vehicle fleet management, WHS duties, phones/reception, mail, couriers, coordination of trades people.
* Assist with the internal team meetings and communication including: meeting minutes, general emails, organising team meetings.
* Liaise directly with Noffs Head Office as required.
* Demonstrated capacity to provide administrative duties.
* Experience and demonstrated ability to work with young people between the ages of 12 and 25 years old.
* Proven organisational skills and the ability to multi-task with attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Excellent telephone and inter-personal manner.
* Ability to develop, maintain and build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
* Commitment to the principles of harm minimisation and to the aims of the Ted Noffs Foundation.
* Must have a current and valid Queensland Blue Card and Driver's Licence.
* Experience with social media platforms and communication.
* Experience in the drug and alcohol sector, not for profit or arts-based organisation.
* Experience using Slack, Trello, and Xero Accounting.
