The Role We are looking to recruit an operationally focused manager to help support the delivery of our fitness to practise work for one of our largest regulatory clients. The successful candidate will play a key part in the day to day organisation of the delivery and management of the important work we do. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, is able to pick up processes quickly and is able to think fast. The focus of the role will be to manage, support and develop our large paralegal team. We need someone to solve day to day operational challenges, ensuring we manage capacity across the team, help identify subject matter experts to help solve challenging or complex queries and work with the client partners to identify and improve processes within the team. Whilst the role doesn’t require in-depth or detailed knowledge of the specific legal sector we operate in, we are looking for someone who has a natural inclination to ask ‘why’ and question embedded ways of working. This is a new role within a growing team and we are excited about the development opportunities this could provide to someone looking to build their managerial experience and interested in taking on a new challenge. Main duties and responsibilities: - Line management of our paralegal team(s) - Daily review of workloads, ensuring all team members have the right balance of work - Support the escalation of queries or problems to subject matter experts where appropriate - Ensure targets are being met and proactively intervening where appropriate - Analyse and/ or produce data to help monitor performance against target / address issues / concerns / drive efficiencies - Assist in the development, training and maintenance of documentation of processes & procedures - Help to improve and develop our on boarding, training, development and mentoring capabilities - Support with circulation of team / departmental management information - Support the business in developing and testing IT system changes Skill Set - Experience of managing people in professional services setting (legal or fitness to practise experience not essential) - Quick learner, ability to listen and absorb high level information - Good communicator, who is able to talk to different groups of people with ability to adapt as required - Ability to see the simple path forward, not to be overwhelmed with technical language or get stuck in the small detail - Capable of challenging status quo and able to promote new ways of working - Ability to be proactive & interventional to spot where individuals are spending too much time on wrong activities - Good with data, ability to identify trends and spot potential issues Capsticks is an inclusive employer At Capsticks we value diversity and we are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive working environment where everyone is able to be themselves and reach their full potential.
