Description
Job Purpose:
Providing a high level of service support and maintenance of the organisations systems and infrastructure, with the responsibility of identifying and implementing new developments, which are aligned with the organisation’s strategy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Proven 3+ years’ commercial support experience (2nd line).
* 2+ years’ experience supporting Microsoft Exchange – 2016 on-prem and exchange online.
* 2+ years’ experience supporting a Microsoft Windows Server environment – 2012r2 (and onwards).
* 2+ years’ experience supporting Windows Active Directory and the associated services (Inc. DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, WDS, WSUS).
* 2+ years’ experience supporting Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems and associated applications (i.e. MS Office).
* Experience in supporting and administrating a VMWare vSphere virtual environment.
* 2+ years’ experience supporting and maintaining network infrastructure services, including IP Routing and VLAN configurations.
* Proven background working as a 2nd Line Support Analyst in an ITIL service desk environment, effective in triage, and resolution and proficient in ticket handling process.
* Excellent technical knowledge and experience of supporting Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Software.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory Network Services (Inc., but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, Group Policy, and DHCP).
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange.
* Experience with MDM, MFA, Email/Web filtering, and Anti-Virus solutions.
* Experience supporting Windows 10 and 11 clients, installation, configuration, and maintenance.
* Experience deploying applications using deployment tools, such as but not limited to PDQ Deploy and SCCM.

* Sound awareness of cyber risk and the importance of security hardening to safeguard business systems.
* Customer-focused, with experience in providing advice and guidance to customers over the telephone, e-mail, and Internet with a proven track record of service delivery.

Qualifications: A degree in Computer Science or a related field or apprenticeship qualification level 3/4 and Industry recognised qualifications such as Microsoft Certified (MCP, MCSA, MCSE), Comp Tia, ITIL foundation, or CCNA.
Desirable Qualifications:
* ITIL Foundation Certification

* Flexible approach, able to cover on-call if agreed and willing to work out-of-normal working hours as necessary, and when requested by the Information Systems Manager, or the Head of Information Systems.

* 2+ years’ of experience with administrating Microsoft SQL Server.
* 2+ years’ experience supporting Microsoft Office SharePoint Services.
* 1+ years’ experience supporting and maintaining secure firewall configurations.
* Experience in the maintenance and repair of current IT equipment and systems.
* Experience working with an ITIL framework.
* Experience in delivering IT projects from inception to transition into production support.
* Administration of networked storage appliances eg SAN/NAS.
* Experience working with backup and replication technologies such as Veeam.
* SQL Server (Administration activities including installation, performance tuning, security, analysis and reporting, backup and recovery).
* A sound working knowledge of IP Routing and VLAN configurations.
* Strong understanding of secure firewall configurations, including, but not limited to 2-factor SSL VPNs and granular access policies.
* Good working knowledge of VMware, including monitoring, provisioning, housekeeping, and troubleshooting activities to maintain a stable environment.
* 1+ years’ experience supporting Linux systems.
* 1+ years’ of experience writing Powershell commands.
