We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our team at a special school in Dudley.About the School:Our school caters to students aged 4-19 with severe and profound learning difficulties. We provide a secure, happy environment where each child's individual needs are recognised and supported. With a student body of approximately 152, we offer tailored educational programs and specialist interventions from a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) that includes school nurses, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and more.Types of Needs:Our students have a variety of special educational needs, including: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): Challenges with social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviours. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): Difficulties with attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. Speech and Language Disorders: Issues with communication, both verbal and non-verbal. Learning Disabilities: Challenges in reading, writing, maths, and other academic areas. Physical Disabilities: Mobility issues requiring physical support and accommodations. Emotional and Behavioural Disorders: Anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions. Key Responsibilities: Support the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational programs. Assist students with their learning activities, ensuring they are engaged and motivated. Provide one-on-one support to students with varying needs. Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment. Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs). Assist with daily living skills such as feeding, hygiene, and toileting. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents. Adapt activities and materials to meet individual student needs. Requirements: Previous experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting children with special needs. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
