THE COMPANY We are working in partnership with Lyndon SGB, the UK's largest commercial scaffolding and access business. JOB PURPOSE As SHEQ Manager you will provide professional advice and support on all safety, health, environment and quality matters throughout the UK Commercial Business in order to meet moral, legal and business obligations. Work towards enhancing the reputation of the business by engaging their people and being proactive in organising safety programs. The main focus is to eliminate work place injuries and ensure delivering quality service to the clients. Please note: we can be flexible on base location subject to being willing to travel nationwide as part of the role. KEY RESULT AREAS To develop, implement and maintain safety, health, environment and quality strategies and policies. Continuously monitor and update any changes in safety, health and environment legislation to ensure the business meets the relevant standards and send regular reports and updates to the senior managers within the business. Promote the business to be competent in delivering safe products and services to enhance retention and acquire businesses. Investigate and provide recommendations to avoid recurrence of major accidents. Actively respond to information request in the event of litigation/ HSE investigations. Liaise with external legal representatives to minimise business exposure through work related claims. Managing and supporting the EHS team to meet the business requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Managing a team of SHEQ professionals to support the UK Commercial business. Developing and deliverig focused training to meet the business requirements. Advise management of relevant changes to legislation and Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP’s) and the actions required to implement changes. Conduct regular audits of sites and branches to assure compliance Promoting safety, health and environment management system and safe working practices to customers to help support sales bids and to develop effective working relationships. Ensuring information exchange with colleagues, enforcing agencies and clients is up to date with legislation, ways to achieve and maintain safe working practices (e.g. National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC), Senior Safety Advisers Group, Construction Health and Safety Group (CHSG), Engineering Confederation Industry association (ECIA). Oversee the compilation and correlation of information to create reports and update the business. Attend management safety meetings/committees and provide input, advice and support as needed. Observe the branch network to ensure business is compliant and meeting the legal obligations. Review, Advise and sign off on new Tenders/projects/business developed to ensure EHSQ compliant QUALIFICATIONS & MANAGERIAL EXPERIENCE NEBOSH qualified Background in Construction with knowledge/experience working within the Scaffolding and Access sector.
