The Role
Lancaster City Council is committed to providing a clean, green and safe environment for all those who live, work and visit the district and undertake activities that increase the standards of our parks and open spaces through the district.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Park Maintenance Officer to join our parks and open spaces team at the City Council. This is a supervisory role within the Public Realm Team and is a permanent post based at White Lund Depot.
This is a dynamic and fast paced role. Primarily this role will focus on maintaining lean frontline operations to optimise efficient service delivery, so it is essential you are confident and able to handle challenging situations. You need to be energetic, decisive, able to manage competing priorities and at times, implement significant changes. A key challenge is to ensure the splash park in Happy Mount Park is managed and maintained as a safe environment for all visitors and residents.
It is important you have high standards of delivery and customer service. As well as being determined, you will be resilient, flexible and add value to the team.
A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to drive throughout the district to manage and monitor a widely dispersed workforce. As a result you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data.
The hours of work are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Sunday on a 5 out of a 7-day rota including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. From May to September you may be required to work Wednesday to Sunday to cover the operating hours of the splash park.
The successful applicant will be subject to a basic clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
About You
You will identify with our organisational values of Pride, Ownership, Working Together and Ambition.
