We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team, who has expertise in Virtualisation, Storage, Linux, Networking, and Cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage resilient infrastructure solutions that ensure optimal reliability, scalability, and performance.
What's my mission – What experience do I need?
Working with our small team of engineers, no one day will be the same, but to be successful in this role, you should have:
1. Proven experience managing and optimizing a diverse infrastructure stack.
2. Proficient in managing Linux-based server infrastructure and hypervisors, including Red Hat, Debian, and VMware ESXi, with expertise in Linux system administration.
3. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, as well as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
4. Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, including VMware and Proxmox.
5. Experience with containers (Docker, LXC) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
6. Knowledge of shared storage solutions (SAN, NAS, cloud storage) and immutable backup systems.
7. Understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
8. Experience in configuring and managing load balancers (Nginx) and network monitoring tools.
9. Proficient in DNS management, troubleshooting, and network security best practices.
10. Skilled in using monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, Prometheus, Elasticsearch).
11. Proficient in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash) to drive automation and enhance system efficiency.
12. Experience with packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark) for diagnosing network issues.
13. Proficient in utilizing traceroute utilities and performance analysis tools (e.g., iperf) to identify and resolve network bottlenecks.
14. Familiarity with command-line tools like ipconfig/ifconfig for network configuration analysis and DNS diagnostics.
15. Knowledge of SNMP-based tools for monitoring network device performance.
16. Experience with NetFlow for comprehensive network traffic analysis.
17. Knowledge of OpenLDAP authentication.
18. Skilled in using tools such as iostat, vmstat, and dstat for assessing storage and system performance.
19. Competency in managing file systems and disk partitions using tools like df, du, lsblk, and fdisk.
20. Familiarity with configuration management systems, such as Ansible, Puppet or similar technologies.
