Production Supervisor
Around Noon (London) Ltd based in Slough have an exciting opportunity for a Preparation Supervisor to join our growing team.
The preparation supervisor works within a fast-paced food production environment. You will be responsible for managing the department ensuring that the preparation of ingredients to be used for production meets the quality and food health standards required. You will have a direct, hands-on approach to daily food production. This is achieved by:
* High standards of personal hygiene
* Maintaining a clean production environment
* Knowledge of food safety
* Understanding and implementing health and safety regulations
* Assembling, packaging, and labelling
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities (Job Duties and Tasks)
Hygiene
1. Maintain acceptable personal hygiene at all times, following all company procedures
2. Comply with all food hygiene requirements and company procedures
3. Ensure all production equipment and utensils are thoroughly cleaned in compliance with company policy
4. Ensure work station is clean and sanitised
Health and Safety
1. Comply with all health and safety requirements, following company policies and procedures
2. Wear all required protective clothing, such as overalls, gloves, shoe covers, headgear, etc., in designated areas
3. Be constantly aware of any possible hazards and report these to your supervisor immediately
4. When using machinery, follow all safety rules and company policies and procedures regarding machine usage. Never compromise the safe usage of the machinery by removing safety guards etc., from the machines
Product Preparation and Staff Management
1. Knowledge and application of company procedures and product control standards, following management instructions
2. Have a good knowledge of all training manuals, complying with them at all times
3. Manage staffing levels to meet production requirements
4. Provide ongoing training to department staff
5. Maintain stock levels in Production High Care Chill
6. Plan daily production needs in conjunction with production and preparation department manager
7. Check and weigh all raw materials, ensuring accuracy
8. Ensure all machine settings are correct
9. Run quality checks on products prepared, for example, the size and weight of the finished product, use by date, etc.
10. Ensure ingredients are sliced, cooked, chilled, or defrosted as set down in the training manuals
11. Keep the working and storage areas free of hazards as per the company’s health and safety procedures
General
Most work takes place standing at a production line in a factory. It can be repetitive and some lifting and bending may be necessary. You will be working in a temperature-controlled environment.

1. To work at a fast yet accurate pace to ensure maximum efficiency
2. Give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, and ask questions as appropriate
3. Participate in team projects
4. Be polite to all fellow employees
5. Eating and drinking in designated areas only
6. No jewellery to be worn with the exception of a plain wedding band
7. No phones or personal belongings are to be kept in the production department

The above duties are the minimum required, other duties may be added at any time.

Personal Specification
* Good Communication Skills in English (interpersonal, listening, written and oral) and a working knowledge of English
* Basic reading and mathematical skill for following recipes and training manuals
* Good basic physical fitness for a physically demanding role
* Be trustworthy and reliable
* Have an understanding of Food Hygiene and importance of good Health and Safety practice and procedures
* Be willing and able to learn practices involving all aspects of the production of food products
* The ability to work as part of a team and make a positive contribution
* Ability to take accountability and work on own initiative without supervision
* A flexible approach to work to meet the needs of the business and the role
* A friendly, positive, enthusiastic, and professional character
