Compass Community is a leading therapeutic provider affiliated with Community and Communities (Royal College of Psychiatry) dedicated to Inclusivity and Trauma-Informed approaches. We support over 2,000 children and young people through Fostering, Residential Homes, Family Assessment Centres, and Education. Our ethos of making therapeutic care our baseline ensures we meet the social, emotional, cognitive, and sensory needs of our young people.
Therapeutic Services at Compass has an embedded record of successful evidence of our Assessing and Healing Complex Trauma (AHCT) approach which has already made a difference to the lives of 100’s of young people.
Compass Therapist: We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Therapists in 4 of our regions to join our Therapeutic Services Team Multi-Disciplinary. You will have a professional background and training which is underpinned by theories of working with trauma, attachment and loss. You will have good working knowledge in supporting and understanding the needs of children, young people and carers in the Care sector.
The Role:
* You will provide therapy assessments and ongoing weekly therapy to young people in your designated region in Compass Schools, Residential or Foster Care.
* You will provide 12 weekly therapy reports.
* You will provide Group supervision for Residential and Education staff as part of the Community of Communities therapeutic standards to guide on theory and practice reflective development.
* You will occasionally train staff in Trauma Informed Practice, as part of our Therapeutic Training Programmes.
* You will provide 3 sessions of individual therapeutic support for Foster Carers.
* You will provide clinical supervision to staff.
* Your overarching purpose is to be part of a Team Around the Child (TAC) Approach to help enable the very best opportunities for children. You will work collaboratively with the Therapeutic Services Team as part of our holistic approach to linking all aspects of therapeutic principles.
* Travel between Services is expected.

Earn up to £3,250 by recommending a foster carer or up to £1,000 by recommending a full-time staff member.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION – ESSENTIAL
* Minimum 2 years recognised Post Qualifying Accredited Therapeutic qualification and appropriate registration in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Systemic Psychotherapy, Integrative Psychotherapy or similar.
* Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the applicant’s professional registration/accrediting body.
* Minimum 4 years’ experience of involvement with the Care systems and related agencies.
* High levels of Resilience and strength in reflection to respond proactively to your own needs.
* Comprehension and working experience of Neurodiversity and Learning Disabilities.
* Experience of offering training individually and in group contexts.
* A clear and theoretically informed approach to supervision.
* Good report writing skills.
* Trauma-informed knowledge as applied to the client group using this service.
* Knowledge of guidance and legislation in relation to the client group including safeguarding.
* Ability to apply theoretical knowledge with different cultural contexts and experience of working within a multicultural framework.
* Full driving licence.
* Understanding responsibilities in protecting their own health, safety and wellbeing and that of their colleagues and others.
