We are seeking a committed and motivated individual to join our busy Trauma and Orthopaedics team, which handles a significant volume of trauma and elective patients each year.
With daily trauma lists and a well-structured rota, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to patient care while developing their skills and experience.
Our team is dedicated to supporting professional growth, with a strong history of converting ST1/2 posts into formal training placements.
This role will involve working across the Trust's three sites, with the primary locations being Watford General Hospital and St Albans City Hospital.
The successful candidate will be accountable to the Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultants and will play a key role in supporting the department's services.
This full-time position is offered on a fixed-term contract for 6 months.
This role offers candidates the opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge and experience across a wide range of orthopaedic specialities.
The successful applicant will play a key role within the trauma team.
Primary responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients in Trauma and Orthopaedics, with referrals to other clinicians or general practitioners as necessary.
Collaboration with nursing, professional, technical, administrative, and support staff is an essential aspect of this position.
With a new hospital planned for Watford and work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital, this is an exciting time to join us.

Surgical procedures are performed across both Watford General Hospital and St Albans City Hospital, and the successful candidate will be encouraged to attend these sessions to cultivate a comprehensive interest in all facets of orthopaedic surgery and advance their medical training.
The post holder will be expected to actively engage in the department's audit and clinical governance activities, including regular appraisals.
Additionally, they will participate in the Orthopaedic Trust Appointed ST1/ST2 Level Doctor on-call rota.
