Our Buying team are experts at providing what our customers want: the best quality products at the best possible prices. Our buyers are involved in everything to do with the product -from idea creation and sampling, through to negotiations and packaging sign off. Soon you could be doing this too!
The Lidl Buying Graduate Management Programme will take you through an intense and challenging, but incredibly rewarding two years of structured development. You will experience everything from working in our stores, negotiating products and contracts and developing exciting product ranges. This role offers the long-term scope to become a permanent Assistant Buying Manager with opportunities for further long-term progression.

What you'll do
1. Make multi-million-pound decisions and negotiate the best possible commercial terms for the business - our success is down to you
2. Own your categories - you are responsible for product development and our chief taste tester
3. Manage products from initial concept through to launching in our depots and stores
4. Demonstrate an ability to challenge the status quo and bring your own ideas
5. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and analyse data to support commercial decisions
6. Constantly strive to improve our customer offer. Getting better never stops!
7. Work as part of a team, but be equally happy working independently on your categories
8. Spin lots of plates at any one time –striving under pressure & multi-tasking is your thing!
What you'll need
9. A 2:2 degree or above in any discipline by September 2025 or graduated from a Bachelors degree no earlier than September 2023
10. Possession of a full UK driving licence by 1st February 2025
11. Already live, or are happy to relocate within a one-hour commute of our Head Office in Tolworth
12. To be legally entitled to work in the UK on a full-time basis
13. German language skills are desirable but not essential
14. Be passionate about the food retail industry and a love for all things discount retailer
15. Strong commercial acumen and an initiative-taker with entrepreneurial spirit
16. Work well under pressure to tight and often conflicting deadlines
17. Pragmatic, logical, resilient and quick thinking are all the words people would use to describe you!
18. Be assertive and confident
19. Able to attend the assessment day either on 28th or 29th November 2024
