About the Med Surge Float Pool Department:
The Med/Surge Float RNs provide 24/7 clinical excellence for med/surge areas. Float pool nurses care for medical and surgical adult populations and rise to the challenge of staffing surge units when necessary.
Position Summary:
As an RN in the Medical Surgical Units, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care using our patient-centered care model.
Job Responsibilities:
* Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
* Communicate with various healthcare team members, patients, and their families.
* Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
* Update and manage patient records.
* Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
* Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC’s nursing organization.
* Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
Job Requirements:
* Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
* 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
* Certification in basic life support (BLS).
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) completed during orientation.
* PCC Certification required within 1 year of hire.
* Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
* Basic computer proficiency.
* Fluency in another language is a plus.
