As our Lead Construction and Integration Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of our water and wastewater network projects, ensuring smooth execution while maximising Thames Water's benefits. Your expertise will guide projects through feasibility, design, and construction phases, ensuring buildability and seamless delivery.
What you’ll be doing as a Lead Construction Assurance & Integration Engineer
* Manage the team, which includes direct reports and delivery partners, ensuring project delivery outputs and driving performance.
* Take responsibility for team performance and improve engagement of all key stakeholders throughout the stage gate process.
* Encourage the team's capability to maintain a challenging assurance culture.
* Input into lessons learned reviews and ensure results are used in future projects.
* Identify risks and issues; report to key stakeholders; work with stakeholders to resolve them.
* Liaise with Operations and contractors to approve passing through key milestones.
* Monitor and review the contractor's construction assurance documentation.
* Work with design teams and contractors to resolve issues promptly.
* Assist design teams with practical, buildable solutions to meet the brief.
* Promote and monitor contractor health and safety.
* Ensure compliance with environmental requirements in asset design and delivery.
As part of this role, you must be on site 3-4 days a week, 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate must drive and have a car - this role comes with a car allowance of £4,500 a year.
What you should bring to the role
* Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree.
* NEBOSH General Certificate or strong knowledge of health and safety.
* Extensive knowledge of defining and supporting solutions to complex works.
* Background in multi-stakeholder environments.
* Understanding of design, construction, and operation of infrastructure projects.
* Understanding of performance and quality management.
* Understanding of the stage gate process and intelligent client model.
