In this pivotal role, you will be leading the Housing & Building Standards Service of Aberdeenshire Council aiming to deliver good affordable quality housing and a number of associated service areas. As a Chief Officer of Aberdeenshire Council, you will also have a corporate role and input into the strategic and operational direction of the Council.
This role encompasses a vast range of services provided to tenants and service users which includes addressing homelessness, fuel poverty, improving private sector housing, supporting particular needs, working with key partners, asset management as well as ensuring best value and continually improving services.

Reporting to the Director of Environment & Infrastructure Services, you will provide leadership for all the elements of Housing Services and Building Standards – Options & Homelessness, Asset Management, Housing Strategy & Building Standards, and Tenancy Services. Experience of successfully leading a relevant professional area within a large multi-functional organisation is essential as well as demonstrable achievements at a strategic and corporate level. Your leadership skills allow you to successfully encourage a culture of strong and embedded performance, improvement, and innovation.
