Graduate School £27,180 - £31,077 per annum, pro rata Fixed-term for 12 months (maternity cover) 29.6 hours per week We are looking to recruit a Research Administrator to join our team in the Graduate School to cover maternity leave. The Graduate School looks after postgraduate research students across all 5 academic schools within the university. The Graduate School has 4 teams: Admissions, Lifecycle, Exams and Research Environment. This post sits within the Lifecycle team, alongside Research Administrators who support other academic schools. The Lifecycle team work together to provide a consistent and efficient service to our postgraduate research students. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Director and Deputy Director of Graduate Research, specifically in the School of Business, Education and Law, which currently has 193 students registered on research degree programmes including PhDs, Masters by Research and Professional Doctorates. Working with the Research Officers and the Director/Deputy Director of Graduate Research in the School, you will provide dedicated support to postgraduate research students, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of systems and processes, including progression monitoring and the student records system. Assisting with the administration of complex postgraduate research scenarios such as interruptions and extensions, you will also organise and provide secretarial support to PGR forum meetings, and Professional Doctorate student panels and course committees. You will have significant administrative experience and be able to demonstrate attention to detail, interpersonal skills, excellent organisation skills and the ability to work with different systems. You will also have the ability to provide a high level of customer service to postgraduate research students, ensuring the smooth running of their studies whilst at the university. GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, and excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel, are required for this role.
