PLC / Controls Engineer
Location: Dungannon
As a PLC / Controls Engineer, you will lead in the full software development lifecycle, providing mentoring and technical direction to identify technical solutions to realize design.
Job Description
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, program, test, and improve software solutions.
2. Develop PLC software control systems.
3. Create technical documentation including work instructions, parts list, list of critical parts, and maintenance components.
4. Provide mentoring and technical direction to development, helping to identify technical solutions to realize design.
5. Develop solutions to meet customer requirements, researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
6. Work on R&D projects to expand the current product range and bring new products to the market.
7. Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
8. Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
9. Maintain product and company reputation by complying with regulations.
10. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
11. Any other duties as required by the Line Manager to suit business needs.
12. Adhere to our ISO 9001 Quality management system.
13. Adhere to company health and safety procedures.
14. Maintain a clean and tidy works area.
Role Requirements:
1. Must have an HND or equivalent in electronic/electrical engineering or relevant working engineering experience.
2. A minimum of 5 years postgraduate work experience in a similar design software role.
3. Experience in software programming with Danfoss, Codesys, and Siemens.
4. Ability to read and create detailed electrical drawings.
5. Detailed knowledge of current regulations and electrical design standards.
6. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work well independently and in a team.
8. Must have good technical drawing skills.
9. Must have experience of drafting to electrical standards.
