Category Manager – Skincare
Our client, a leading distributor of premium skincare and aesthetic products, is looking for a talented Category Manager to drive the strategy and growth of a key product portfolio. Based in London, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-paced, high-growth industry.
About the Role:
As the Category Manager, you will take ownership of the strategic direction for the skincare product portfolio, driving growth through data-led decision-making, strong supplier partnerships, and in-depth market analysis.
Working closely with sales, marketing, and suppliers, you will play a key role in enhancing the company’s market presence and ensuring sustained category performance.
Your ability to analyse trends, refine strategies, and execute future plans will be crucial in driving long-term success while reinforcing the company’s position as a leader in the skincare and aesthetics industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day account operations with top skincare providers, ensuring regular and productive engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
* Build and nurture strong supplier relationships to foster long-term collaboration and mutual success.
* Partner with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to design, negotiate, and implement Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and commercial terms, conducting quarterly performance reviews to track progress.
* Develop impactful promotional activation plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while negotiating funding and brand support when necessary.
* Collaborate with marketing, education, and sales teams to represent the voice of the brands, ensuring alignment in strategy and consistent messaging across all channels.
* Monitor the external clinical skincare market, identifying emerging trends and opportunities to enhance category performance.
* Create and maintain mechanisms to measure the success of events and promotional activities, delivering actionable insights for future planning.
What We’re Looking For:
* A minimum of three years experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
* A strong track record of developing, leading, and motivating teams to achieve results.
* Proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to distil key insights for senior stakeholders.
* Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills across all levels of the organisation.
* Excellent organisational skills, with a meticulous eye for detail.
* A problem-solver with a strong commercial acumen and an understanding of P&L impacts.
* Confidence using Salesforce, Intact IQ, Microsoft Office, and other similar platforms.
* Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to manage and interpret data effectively.
* Strong prioritisation and project management capabilities, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
