Project Manager – Event Crowd Management, Stadia Co-Ordinator – Portsmouth, Hampshire
What will the successful candidate be offered?
· £38,000-£43,000pa (£30,000.00 (£14.42ph) based on 5 days per week at 8 hours per day (09:00-17:00) plus all Operational hours paid in addition to the office based hours. Detail in the following point).
· In addition to the above office based £30,000 amount, you will be paid any Operational hours you work on any project at the prevailing hourly rate. For team members on a similar pay structure this typically can range from £8,000 - £13,000 in additional wages each year. This element is linked to desire to take on additional deployment as well as the dictated deployments during periods of peak demand for the company.
· Guaranteed annual pay increase of 1.5% (this is a minimum baseline that is usually exceeded)
· CPD budget of 5% of annual salary

· Option of company car. Choice of family style saloons both conventional fuel and electric models or conventionally fuelled pickup truck. (after successful completion of three month trial period).

Bonuses
Bonuses kick in when Vespasian has reached its annual financial growth goal. Some years this goal is simply to match or exceed turnover from the previous year, with other years seeing targets of anything upto 20% sustainable growth.
· Company growth target bonus – When the company hits targets, we all share in the spoils.
· Bonus of 1% of post costs profit on all live crowd management events within the candidate’s portfolio. A well run portfolio gets rewarded.
Location: On site, Portsmouth Office, at event sites around the UK
Hours of work: 40 hours per week minimum plus additional operational deployment at live projects.

The role
The role has a seasonal element where focus migrates between two streams of work and responsibility:
1. During the UK football season, the co-ordination of teams supplying stadia security and stewarding services to regional stadia.
2. The planning for and execution of small, medium and large-scale crowd management and security projects across the UK throughout the summer season.
Working with Vespasian Directors and Senior Managers you will take a pivotal role in the day-to-day booking, quality management, administration and leadership of stadia security and stewarding teams. Team sizes can number into the hundreds, multiple times per month, often multiple games on the same day. Supported by an experienced team of Supervisors at each location, you will be responsible for co-ordination of mass transport for the teams, accurate record keeping, reporting of timesheets to accounts as well as to Senior Leadership Team.
In the lead up to and during the summer season, you will be responsible for the creation of bespoke security plans for live events. You will have a specific portfolio of events to lead upon, whilst taking a support role within other events throughout the year.
Attending meetings with emergency service partners, clients and regulatory bodies, you will need to maintain excellent, proactive communication with all stakeholders. The you will lead operational teams at the events you have been instrumental in planning.
You will travel widely in the UK throughout the calendar year, visiting clients and site, as well as leading operational teams on a weekly basis throughout the UK summer season May-Sep. You will not necessarily need to lead every event that you plan, but there is a requirement to build a professional delivery team around each event who are then briefed in detail regarding the needs of the client for the live project.
Although Vespasian deploy team members to a wide range of security sectors including retail, facilities management, health care, social care, night-time economy, the candidates focus shall be directed solely towards stadia operations and crowd safety management at live events.
All candidates will:
· Already hold a current and valid SIA Door Supervision Licence
· Have operated as a Junior or Senior Manager within the security and crowd management industries for more than 24 months.
· Have a passion for the crowd management and security industries and see this as their career path.
· Have a full UK driving licence.
Common and regular duties:
· Manage a portfolio of contracts, leading as the point of contact
· Deployment in support of Vespasian teams.
· Build great professional relationships with clients and operational team alike.
· Bring a proactive and positive approach to all aspects of your work.
· Attend and assist with recruitment events designed to specifically source new team members to fulfil the crowd management event portfolio.
· Attend any necessary meetings with clients, frontline operational teams and the Vespasian head office team.
· Work closely with Vespasian Head Office Team to ensure all staffing resourcing is fulfilled pre-event. This must be completed inline with client requests.
· Take on a series of vocational training courses running concurrently to your working hours, to upskill and develop your knowledge on a continual basis
Training
On top of your 5% training budget, a suite of training courses will need to be completed, to get you up-to-speed in several aspects of the role. These include but are not limited to:
· Level 5 Departmental Manager Apprenticeship (delivered by The Square Meter Group)
· Level 5 Crowd Management
· Optional additional Training and Assessment Qualification (L3 Education and Training + CAVA)
