Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Inspector I is responsible for ensuring that quality standards and procedures are met across each shift through short interval control methods, escalating potential quality concerns as per the escalation processes and maintaining high product quality standards by aiming to achieve right first time.
What you'll do:
* Quality Monitoring: Conduct hourly quality audits, ensure compliance with procedures, and perform in-process checks and inspections according to customer specifications.
* Order & Inspection Management: Inspect and manage GBS condition, check and register orders timely, and oversee packaging and fulfilment accuracy.
* Process & Data Management: Transport parts, escalate quality concerns, review production data, and propose solutions for ongoing issues, non-conformance, and root cause analysis.
* Support & Training: Provide guidance to production staff, identify training needs, and conduct or request training on quality and equipment.
* Team Building & Leadership: Act as a positive role model, encourage teamwork, and ensure adherence to company policies, housekeeping, and safety standards.
* Continuous Improvement & Handover: Enhance production quality processes, ensure comprehensive shift handovers, manage rejected items, and cover for team members’ holidays.
* Adherence & Compliance: Follow company policies and procedures consistently.
What it takes:
* Experience in a manufacturing environment within a quality inspection remit.
* Knowledge of production processes, quality controls.
* Good organisational skills.
* Ability to obtain skills to navigate 3D CAD models.
* Good decision making, follow up and follow through.
* Experience with measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
* Able to read and write in English, and do basic arithmetic.
* Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
* Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly with a wide variety of people.
* Must be punctual and have good attendance.
* Problem solver.
* Customer focus.
* Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
* Able to lift 15kg.
