Are you an experienced financial professional with a proven track record in financial management seeking a new responsible Financial Controller opportunity?

Our client is a well-established and trusted insurance brokerage specialising in both personal and commercial insurance services.
Due to the retirement of their long-serving FC, a new Financial Controller opportunity exists. Our client requires someone who will take ownership of the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency, while supporting the leadership team with insightful financial reporting and analysis. A summary of the key responsibilities for this highly responsible role are summarised below:
1. Oversee daily cash flow management
2. Manage client account transactions
3. Invoicing
4. Prepare payroll schedules
5. Management accounts: P&L’s
6. Provide senior management with monthly financial reports
7. Reconcile client and office bank statements
8. Prepayments
9. Prepare and submit quarterly and annual financial reports, including VAT returns, FCA compliance filings, P11D, and PAYE annual returns
10. Coordinate FCA reporting requirements and ensure timely submissions
11. Support pre-audit preparations, including audit schedule preparation, invoice scanning, and journal postings
If you are an experienced financial professional with a proven track record in financial management (ideally within an insurance/financial services environment or similar) as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance role, then our client would like to hear from you.
Experience in the insurance brokerage sector or a related industry is highly desirable but NOT essential, as well as proficiency in SAGE or equivalent accounting software. Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and reporting, will be required, as well as excellent knowledge of FCA regulatory reporting, VAT returns, and PAYE filings.
You will need to have 1st class organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and a detail-oriented mindset, with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
