We are working with a leading multi-national engineering business with a strong presence delivering across the high value technical engineer sectors who are looking for a mechanical lead to work on a brand new data centre in south wales. Reporting to a campus lead, you will join from pre-construction phase, taking control of the sizeable mechanical packages, leading a large team through the scheme to PC.
Mechanical Lead Duties:
* Support in the oversight of all day-to-day site operations.
* Direct management of the project team, including alignment of all discipline, leads to the benefit of project goals.
* Play a lead role in the management of Site QA in conjunction with the QA Manager.
* Assist and lead in the management of Site Safety in conjunction with the project team and the Safety management.
* Ensure change management is handled correctly (Cost & Programme)
* Liaise with the client and establish a trusting relationship to ensure future project opportunities.
* To manage and drive a large team to meet all project requirements and deadlines
* Ensuring all Subcontractor documentation, including safety documentation, is maintained up to date and filed for future reference.
* Assist in projected labour projections from the field supervisors.
* Assist with the commercial team to ensure all variations are been captured and costs issued to the client.
Essential Criteria:
* Good strong knowledge of the full design and construction process
* Ability to control and manage people and programs
* An Engineering Degree would be of advantage
* Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects
* Mission critical experience
* Pipefitting or plumbing trade backgrounds also considered
* Commercially astute
* Strong on design
* Competent working to aggressive programmes
