Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Residential & Commercial)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm

About the Role
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor with experience in residential and commercial construction to join our team. You will play a key role in cost management, contract administration, and financial control across a variety of projects, including housing developments, apartment complexes, office buildings, and retail spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for residential and commercial projects.
* Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability and cost-effectiveness.
* Manage and monitor project costs, ensuring profitability and budget adherence.
* Assess and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements.
* Measure and value construction work, including variations and change orders.
* Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
* Work closely with developers, contractors, architects, and project managers to ensure financial efficiency.
* Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to maximise cost savings.
* Ensure compliance with UK construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
* Assist in dispute resolution, claims management, and contract variations.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. RICS or CIOB accreditation is desirable.
* Experience: Proven experience in residential and/or commercial construction projects in the UK.
* Skills:
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
* Excellent cost control, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
* Strong communication and analytical abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
* Main Contract QS work, Cashflow, Cost Value Recognitions (CVRs).
