Content Manager, Christian Charity c£30k – £35k + bens DOE
This Christian charity based in London is looking to recruit a Content Manager to create and deliver the charity’s engaging content across a variety of channels, digital and more traditional, as part of their wider communications strategy and team. You will work closely with the Head of Communications, driving and project managing the process of effective, relevant and compelling content and campaigns to meet the needs of the charity. This will include planning, commissioning, editing and compiling publications which include a quarterly supporter magazine. You will project manage the communications aspects of campaigns and appeals including for the Fundraising team and Supporter Relations teams with their major appeals. Additionally you will source stories from across the charity to share across their platforms (blog, supporter magazines, website, newsletters, prayer resources, etc), writing and editing copy, researching and fact finding, proof reading, fact checking, copyediting content, working with internal departments and colleagues.
Other responsibilities will include:
* Review booklets, leaflets, other printed publicity materials and digital content in light of current practice, propose and organise revisions, new products and write copy.
* Support the development of a brand toolkit for use across the charity, to include (but not restricted to) poster templates, leaflet templates, PowerPoint template, signs, proposals, folders, pitch documentation, etc.
* Provide support to other departments of the charity with the implementation of branding and messaging in their communications as appropriate.
* Facilitate creative thinking and ideation in the context of content creation as the Communications Team seeks a creative and innovative approach to communications.
* Participate in and lead, when asked, creative thinking within the whole team, and with other departments as required.
You will also line manage a Content Creator as well as volunteers and other external consultants who input into the work of the team.
The nature of the position means that there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder will be a practising and evangelical Christian in addition to your excellent Content Management skills. The role will suit a candidate with a couple of years’ experience working in the field of communications (ideally within a charity or church-based environment) and the ability to demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of communications activities and methods – print publications, media, digital marketing, brand management, events, campaign development etc. Additionally you can ideally demonstrate:
* At least one year of experience with line management, scheduling and managing workflow and managing performance and development.
* Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
* Excellent written communication skills to produce clear, succinct and compelling content that achieves impact.
* Excellent editing skills for print and digital publications to ensure quality and accurate content is delivered consistently.
* Experience appointing and managing external agency and freelance relationships to get the best service and value-for-money.
* Ability to identify and tell powerful stories and case studies for use across a variety of channels.
* Excellent attention to detail and proofreading capabilities to ensure work is right first time and copy is final before going to designers.
* Ability to analyse data, to draw appropriate conclusions and make clear, relevant and realistic recommendations based on the analysis to improve how we do things.
* Confident and experienced in using Adobe Creative Cloud.
* High level of skills in using MS Office.
It would be helpful, but not essential to be educated to degree level or have a Marketing qualification (CIM or equivalent), some formal Christian theological training, experience with videography and photography and editing software such as Lightroom and experience and relationships with various Christian media.
Salary dependent upon experience £30,000 up to £35,000 + benefits and travel allowance.
