Your Role:
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will:
* Lead Electrical Design Projects: Manage new builds, refurbishments, and extensions of Council properties, including commercial and light industrial premises, schools, theatres, and leisure facilities.
* Project Management: Plan, monitor, and control major capital projects from initial design brief to installation, ensuring delivery within budget and meeting quality standards, industry regulations, and C.I.B.S.E. guidelines.
* Collaborate: Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into architectural builds.
* Mentor: Guide junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
* Innovate: Apply creative thinking to installation and materials, ensuring designs are fit for purpose and meet safety and energy requirements.
Requirements:
We are seeking someone with:
* Experience: Proven experience in electrical design engineering within a building environment, focusing on medium to large-scale projects.
* Qualifications: HND/HNC/Bachelor's degree or Master's in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard design software and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Hevacomp/Bentley) and Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams).
* Project Management: Strong knowledge of project management approaches, budgeting, and resource allocation procedures.
* Health & Safety: Familiarity with health and safety guidelines in the construction industry.
* Leadership: Ability to take the lead and effectively collaborate with stakeholders of all levels.
* Driving Licence: Hold a current full UK driving licence.
