About the role:
As the Manager, Payroll you will be responsible for the end to end payroll function for the Group. You will be proficient in all payroll tasks and will also contribute to broader HR initiatives, including corporate and statutory reporting, external audits, process and system improvements, scoping and DD of systems and onboarding and offboarding. You will focus on providing a high level of service to stakeholders across the group, creating efficiencies and “better ways of doing things” and will be able to work independently across all Loan Market Group entities in Australia and NZ. Your positive, can-do attitude and ability to be adaptable to changing priorities are essential in this position.
Key responsibilities:
Vendor and Stakeholder Management (Internal and External)
* Ensure ongoing level of service with external providers including, Employment Hero, Keypay and CFS
* Engage IT and Info Security to effectively manage any system upgrades/enhancements and ensure minimal disruption
* Troubleshooting any issues as it relates to systems with the relevant parties
* Engage with providers for any additional services, costings etc.
* On train payroll/HR in the systems in particular any new/additional system features
* Represent payroll as needed at any internal meetings including with Audit, Tax, Finance
* Support external organisations requests for information i.e. OSR, ATO, Inland Revenue
Business Improvement and Strategy
* Suggesting, driving and implementing business Improvement initiatives
* Streamlining processes to create efficiencies
* Using technology to enhance manual tasks i.e. reporting, API integrations and workflow automation
* Setting the strategy for Payroll
Leadership
* Leadership and development of the payroll assistant
* Onboarding new payroll team members
End to end processing of all employees within the fortnightly pay cycle
* Processing timesheets, ordinary earnings & bonus payments
* Calculation and payment of terminations
* Processing remuneration increases and calculation of back payments
* Preparing journals and reporting for the Finance team
* Processing monthly, fortnightly and out of cycle/additional payments for all corporate employees
Payroll Administration
* Creating new starters and removing terminations
* Updating and maintaining payroll records
* Document management of employee records
* Creating and maintaining the payroll training materials and guides
* Draft letters of offer, employment agreements and variation letters if needed
* Updating terms of employment i.e. salary, hours, position, manager etc.
* Redundancy calculations and deeds of release
End of Month/Year Processes
* Complete end of month processes including:
* Calculation of payroll tax
* Monthly reporting
* End of financial year processes for all employing entities
* End of financial year WorkCover estimates and declarations
* Any other ad hoc tasks as required
To succeed in this role you will bring with you:
* Qualifications in a related discipline would be highly regarded
* Preferred experience in Employment Hero, KeyPay and CFS super
* Demonstrated payroll processing experience
* Ability to work to deadlines for pay runs

* Positive attitude and team player
* Ability to manage time, take ownership of issues, work independently
* Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills
* Numerical ability and data entry skills.
* Understanding of payroll legislation and processes ie. tax, superannuation
* Ability to interpret awards and relevant legislation
