Head Housekeeper – Scottish Highlands
Greycoat Lumley’s client is seeking an experienced Head Housekeeper for their magnificent lodge and rental properties in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.
The Head Housekeeper’s role is to lead and work alongside the team of Housekeepers, ensuring correct standards and practices are maintained. They will develop a well-ordered routine for daily tasks and an in-depth program to include specific tasks when the main house and properties are unoccupied.
This is a practical, hands-on position that will suit candidates with experience in catering for small shoot lunches and corporate events.
Duties include:
* Opening up the main lodge and directing the Housekeeping team with daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly tasks to ensure all properties are maintained to the highest standards.
* Cleaning fireplaces in reception rooms and laying the fires.
* Monitoring any property issues for the maintenance team.
* Care of fine wood and marble furniture.
* Organizing and maintaining laundry to a high standard.
* Ordering and arranging flowers.
* Preparing all required bedrooms and bathrooms for the family and guests with the correct linen, towels, soaps, bathrobes, water, etc.
* In the absence of a Lady’s Maid, packing and unpacking luggage.
* Performing turn down procedures when family/guests are in residence.
* Recruiting seasonal and permanent housekeeping staff.
* Driving for family, guests, shopping, and other estate duties as required.
* Assisting the family and guests with any requirements they have.
* Catering for small parties of family/guests as required. If numbers are too large, a Chef will be brought in, assisting the Chef as required.
* Preparation of the Piece table during the season, lunches, and picnics as required.
* Ensuring household supplies are ordered in consultation with visiting Chefs to ensure they have the appropriate supplies.
* Providing table service and working with the Butler as required.
* Organizing and managing private Lodge and Estate functions, events, and shoot lunches in association with the Factor, Estate Management, and relevant staff.
Rental Properties and Others
* Visiting once a week when empty and checking.
* The holiday rentals must be maintained to a similar high standard as the Lodge and must be turned around immediately upon guest departure so that they are ready for another booking.
Hours of Work:
Off peak: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Peak times: Hours are required to fulfill the criteria of the position.
Accommodation:
* Rent-free large separate 3-bedroom property.
* Utility bills and council tax are covered by the client.
* Free logs are provided.
* The property has a garden and can be furnished or unfurnished.
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 GPA
