As a Financial Accountant (Senior Associate) at Kainos, you will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks including assisting the Finance Managers and Group Head of Finance in the management of all aspects of the Finance function including monthly and annual reporting cycles.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
1. Management Accounts Preparation: Assists in the production of monthly management accounts.Areas of responsibility will include nominal ledger reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.Analysing accounts and carrying out a review of the Trial Balances.Focus on accuracy and completion within month end deadlines.
2. Journal Processing Processing salary journals and ensuring salary costs are recharged to the correct project, where applicable.Reallocation and batch uploads to be prepared and posted.
3. Business Partnering: Providing P&L reports v Budget for assigned cost centresExpenditure analysis report.Trend analysis.
4. Statutory Accounts Preparation: Assisting with the preparation of year and annual statutory accounts for Group and subsidiaries.Liaising with audit team.Ensuring preparation of accounts within set deadlines.
5. Treasury Management: Payment processing.Ability to assist/review bank reconciliations if required.Assisting with Cash flow forecasting.
6. Project Work as required such as: Assisting with preparation of R&D tax credit claims.Assisting with Invest NI grant claims.Preparing files and liaising with tax advisers on tax submissions.
7. Other: Assisting any area of the Finance team as required (e.g. Accounts Payable, Credit Control, Cash).Liaises with other Departments in Kainos (e.g. Business Units, People Support, Commercial).Assist the Group Head of Finance as required
Minimum (essential) requirements:
8. Ideally ACA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
9. Foreign currency exposure (e.g. Euro, Polish Zloty and US Dollar)
10. Good commercial awareness and understanding of project and business dynamics.
11. Ability to work efficiently and prioritise your workloads in a fast-paced environment, delivering a high level of accuracy and attention to detail within tight timeframes.
12. Ability to identify areas of improvement within processes and procedures and identify continuous improvements for your team.
13. Experience in mentoring and supporting others to deliver tasks and shared outcomes.
14. A self-starter who can work on their own initiatives with minimal supervision.
15. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both staff and external stakeholders
16. We all work in teams here in Kainos – a proven ability of strong team skills, including taking direction from others, is crucial.
17. Ability to make sound decisions, under pressure, taking a balanced view of customer needs, Kainos requirements and any impact to others.
18. Sound knowledge of Workday, or a similar accounting package
19. Intermediate excel skills and good knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications.
20. Highly flexible, including willingness to work flexible hours at peak times
Desirable :
21. Experience in mentoring and supporting others to deliver tasks and shared outcomes

23. Experience with Workday Financial system
