Job Title: Social Worker – Hospital
Location : St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester
Rate : £35 per hour (up to £38 for highly qualified candidates with at least 2 years of experience). Additional £150 per week expenses for candidates living outside West Sussex.
Liquid Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our client’s Hospital Social Work Team at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will deliver a statutory social work service with compassion and empathy. You will work in partnership with colleagues to maintain high standards of social work practice. Your responsibilities will include supporting individuals to regain their skills and independence following hospital admission, conducting assessments, and arranging care and support for individuals both in the hospital and post-discharge. You will participate in multi-disciplinary teams covering A&E and the emergency floor, and attend the hospital at least twice a week for face-to-face assessments and family meetings.
* Flexible working arrangements with a mix of home and hospital-based work.
Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful in this role, you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, and hold a qualification in Social Work at degree level. Additionally, you should have post-qualified experience and proven experience in making strengths-based assessments and implementing effective plans. You need the ability to apply a risk enablement approach and use evidence-based practice. Being skilled in analysing and interpreting information to prioritize needs and formulate intervention plans is essential. Experience in contributing to or undertaking safeguarding enquiries is also required. You should have the capability to provide informal supervision and mentor less experienced practitioners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with strong IT skills for effective record-keeping and data protection compliance, are crucial for this role.
