Job summary We invite applications for an exciting substantive Consultant Neonatologist post at the Norfolk and Norwich University NHS Trust (NNUH). This post is part of a jobshare, consisting of 5.25PA (4.25DCC, 1SPA).The successful applicant will join a team of 8 other Neonatal Intensive Care Consultants. The Neonatal Unit is one of 3 Regional Intensive Care Units within the Neonatal Operational Delivery Network for the East of England. Main duties of the job 1 The provision of in-patient services in Neonatal Medicine by arrangement. 2 The provision of out-patient services for neonatal patients. 3 To assist consultant colleagues in the provision of a consultant led approach to Neonatal Medicine. 4 To share in teaching programmes in Neonatal Medicine for medical and other staff and students. They may become the named educational supervisor for specific junior staff and be involved in their individual training plans. They should have a commitment to his/her own continuing medical education. 5 To be involved in implementing the Trust's Clinical Governance programme. This includes active participation in clinical audit, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management 6 To have appropriate training and to maintain competence in Safeguarding Children. To discharge all appropriate responsibilities in this field including liaison with Children's services and legal representatives of the Trust and outside agencies along with the preparation of reports for statutory bodies as required. 7. To share in administrative duties allocated by mutual agreement within the Directorate. The appointee will be provided with office and secretarial support which may be shared. 8. To support and actively participate in the programme of research underway within the neonatal unit.
