Youâll need to live within commuting distance of the office where the role is based or be willing to relocate prior to start date as youâll need to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, working from home. Three days in the office and two days from home (minimum 50%) is typical, but this will vary between teams. Get to know the role:\u00A0\n\nUnderwriting Apprentice: our Underwriting Apprentices work alongside and learn from some of the most skilled underwriters in the industry. We will teach you how to work with our customers and youâll get to spend time building relationships with our brokers (and other parts of the business), helping secure new business while ensuring our existing customers get the best solutions, tailored to their wants and needs. Everything you do will have an impact on Aviva and our customers, so youâll need to be passionate about delivering the best service and results.\u00A0\n\nIn your first year, youâll follow our in-house training plan and complete a Certificate in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute.\u00A0\n\nIf youâre based in England, youâll spend your second and third year working towards your Level 4 Insurance Professional Apprenticeship qualification. Youâll also gain a Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute.\u00A0\n\nIf youâre based in Scotland, youâll work towards a SCQF Level 8 Insurance Technical in your second and third year as well as your Diploma in Insurance.\u00A0\n\nYouâll spend 80% of your time working in the role and 20% working towards your qualifications. This is a brilliant learning environment â a place where everyone is welcome to share ideas, ask questions, and seek out advice.\u00A0\u00A0 To join us on this apprenticeship:\n\nyouâll have (or be on track to achieve) at least two A-Levels or three Scottish Highers. Or have an equivalent Level 3 qualification.\nyou'll also need at least five GCSEs or Scottish National 5s at grades A-C (9-4) or have equivalent qualifications. These must include English and Maths.\u00A0\n\nYou'll also: \u00A0\nhave lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for at least 3 years by the start of the apprenticeship in September 2025.\nbe eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship.\nbe available for full time work from September 2025 when all our apprentice roles start.\u00A0\n\nAnd have:\u00A0\nconfidence in communicating with a genuine customer focus.\na good analytical mind and enjoy using your problem solving skills.\nthe desire to build relationships and feel comfortable engaging with people at all levels of the business.\u00A0\nthe ability to manage multiple tasks such as balancing work and study.
