Scope: Owen Mumford are looking to hire a Senior Strategic Buyer to join the team, could this be your next role? As a Senior Strategic Buyer you will be responsible for strategic procurement and contract management of a specified selection of direct and indirect categories. Delivering supplier value generation and performance optimisation, whilst meeting or exceeding quality and GMP requirements. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for category contract negotiations (spend c.£15MM per annum), ensuring the best total acquisition cost from current or new suppliers where further cost or service improvements can be achieved, whilst maintaining quality and regulatory standards Ensure the category supply base is developed to improve quality, service, technical competence and reliability Achieve year on year savings (Purchase Price Variance and non-PPV) for specified categories Lead purchasing activities to drive quality improvements with suppliers, liaising with the Quality function to identify and implement priorities Maintain a contract database for a defined group of categories Assess and manage risk for a defined group of categories, taking appropriate action to minimise the impact on supply Collaborate with company planners and Quality to resolve category supplier performance issues Work with category suppliers to identify and harness the potential for technology and service innovations Support company inventory reduction initiatives with category suppliers Ensure Health and Safety Policies and Environmental Policies are being adhered to at all times Comply with all regulatory guidelines and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times Achieve agreed personal objectives Financial Responsibilities: Authorised to negotiate supply contracts according to company guidelines and constraints Budget holder with signing authority up to £5000 To be in this role, you will need: Considerable category management experience in relevant supply categories Contract negotiation for on-going raw material supply as well as one-off capital purchases Strategic Sourcing and supplier management/development Experience within a regulated environment Wider supply chain experience an advantage Degree qualified or equivalent experience Procurement qualification, e.g. CIPS preferred Highly organised and methodical in approach Clear, concise and unambiguous communication Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills Ability to communicate & build relationships at all levels What will we give you?
