The Opportunity:
As SAP Basis Support Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering Technical Management Services with customers. In addition, you will provide SAP technical support to the current ERP and Business Analytics install base (circa 300 customers) as well as providing technical support to the internal AMS and consulting teams.
In this role, your main focus will be delivering high customer satisfaction to all customers. You will also act as mentor to support and develop junior members of the team with your excellent knowledge and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Understanding the complexity of SAP Abap systems and SAP Java
2. Administering multiple database architectures, SAP Hana, SQL, Oracle, DB2, SAPDB (MaxDB) and Sybase ASE
3. Providing support for any SAP Basis P1 issues and driving through to resolution
4. Monitoring the Solution Manager Service desk for any incidents assigned to the Basis queue
5. Understanding the specific requirements of customer contracts e.g. Transport Management, roles and authorisations
6. Facilitating the maintenance optimiser download baskets for customers
7. Applying transports in alignment with customer approvals
8. Executing and distributing Early Watch Reports for the maintenance customer base
9. Apply relevant SAP kernel patches and support packages as agreed by the customers
10. Supporting out of hours requests for system stop/starts
11. Perform client copies and system refreshes as requested by the customers
12. Working with SAP on any incidents escalated to SAP support
13. Performing SAP security tasks to create users and profiles and debug authorisation issues
14. Performing Basis service reviews for customers highlighting areas of potential exposure on supported installation levels
15. Performing SAP Enhancement Package upgrades and SAP migrations
About you:
1. Experienced in SAP Technical support and/or field consultant with a proven track record
2. Experienced across multiple industries, multiple platforms
3. Hold experience across multiple SAP versions (S/4, R/3, ECC, NW)
4. Experienced across multiple SAP landscapes (ECC, PI, BI, BI-Java, CRM, SCM, HR, Enterprise Portals, Hana)
5. Previous system support (client or consulting) experience
6. Ability to use Solution Manager for landscape configuration and maintenance optimizer
7. Experience of SAP Security and Authorisations
8. Hold relevant SAP Technical Knowledge including S/4 Administration, NWA Administration, SAP Enterprise Administration, Database administration (SAP Hana, SQL, Oracle, DB2, SAPDB (MaxDB)), Operating system administration (Windows, Unix/AIX), Solution Manager system landscape configuration, SAP Security and Authorisations
