We are soon relaunching our Boarding House at our Prep School in Eastbourne, whilst work is carried out the current location of our Prep Boarding House is based at our Senior School in Upper Dicker.
Reporting to the Boarding House Parent, this is an exciting opportunity for someone to be responsible for the care, supervision and well-being of pupils; to be responsible for the day-to-day running of the House routines and systems and maintain the good presentation of the House. They will need to have great communication & record-keeping skills, keep up to date with safeguarding policies and procedures and provide an empathetic presence in the house, being sensitive to those who are having difficulties coping with school life.
Most of all, we are searching for someone who has experience in working with children and adolescents; they will be a proactive and enthusiastic team player, have relevant first aid & mental health first aid qualifications, if not a holder of certificates in these areas, to be willing to acquire one at Bede’s request. A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for all shifts is essential.
This is a permanent position, 32 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (Term Time Only Plus). Due to the nature of the role, we will require the individual to be on a rota for weekends & evenings. Accommodation is available only when on duty.
The pro rata salary for this position will be £17,864.70 (£13.96 per hour) plus holiday pay per annum (FTE £29,109.41).
