Are you an experienced Designated Electrical Engineer looking for a senior leadership role where you can shape High-Voltage (HV) procedures, drive compliance, and make a real impact?
At Freedom (part of NG Bailey Group), we’re seeking a highly skilled professional to take ownership of our HV electrical procedures and processes. As an Independent Connection Provider (ICP), you’ll also be the key company representative for NER’s compliance and audits.
This is a high-profile role where you’ll lead on safety, governance, and operational excellence across our HV division, ensuring alignment with legislation and industry best practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Overseeing HV operational practices and ensuring compliance across NG Bailey Freedom Group.
* Implementing the Divisional Electricity Safety Management System.
* Managing the High Voltage Electrical Safety Rules and associated procedures.
* Acting as the Designated Engineer under NG Bailey Freedom Group’s HV Safety Rules.
* Reviewing and updating electrical risk assessments and method statements to maintain compliance.
* Chairing and leading the Electrical Governance Board, ensuring best practices.
* Representing the company in NERS audits and leading on compliance.
* Investigating electrical incidents and representing the company in post-incident review meetings.
* Chairing and leading the Electrical Critical Risk Group to oversee competency standards.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in a similar role within a DNO / NGET as an Assessing Officer & Senior Authorised Person.
* Chartered Electrical Engineer qualification.
* Strong background in Private Network / DNO relationship management.
* Expertise in DNO & private client power/maintenance requirements.
* Ability to communicate technical issues to both internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience leading electrical compliance, safety, and governance.
* NEBOSH Level Safety Accreditation (preferred).
