Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Pastoral Support Tutor to join our Professional Studies Department at Slough & Langley College on a term-time only, full-time basis. Pastoral Support Tutor The position of Pastoral Support Tutor in the Professional Studies Department is a full-time term-time only position where you will be expected to work for 39 weeks per year. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide comprehensive support to students, which includes offering general information, advice, guidance, and support concerning academic performance and financial welfare matters. The tutor is expected to lead group pastoral and personal development activities, provide one-to-one tutoring and coaching for pastoral wellbeing, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall college experience and outcomes for students. Additionally, the Pastoral Support Tutor is tasked with supporting departmental cohorts through group sessions, assignment support, and individual tutorials as needed. Regular meetings with students to review their academic performance and personal conduct are part of the role, alongside managing welfare and financial issues. The tutor also acts as a liaison with teachers, curriculum managers, and other relevant staff to address issues related to student retention, achievement, attendance, and behaviour. Furthermore, the role involves contributing to the development and implementation of individual learning plans, managing student feedback, and participating in various college-wide activities and events. The tutor is also involved in safeguarding duties and promoting the colleges policies on equality, diversity, and health and safety.
