Job Title: Childcare Assistant

Job Type: Full-time
Purpose of the Job:
To work as a key person and as a part of the Little Angels team under the direction of the Assistant Manager, providing safe, high-quality education and care for young children. To maintain a stimulating and enjoyable environment.
Main Duties:
✅ Assist in planning the pre-school/out-of-school club curriculum.
✅ Help set up and tidy away the playroom daily, ensuring toys and equipment are safe and clean.
✅ Act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising with parents/carers to meet each child’s individual needs.
✅ Report concerns (e.g., child protection, safety issues) to management while maintaining confidentiality.
✅ Support children with special needs, familiarizing yourself with relevant play and learning plans.
✅ Offer children an appropriate level of support and stimulation to enhance their learning.
✅ Attend staff meetings and training courses as required.
✅ Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff information.
✅ Stay up-to-date with current best practices in childcare.
✅ Undertake any other reasonable duties assigned by management, in line with operational goals.
Personal Specification – Essential Criteria:
✔ Willingness to learn and grow in the role.
✔ Level 3 Early Years Childcare Qualification (NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent).
✔ Level 2 candidates considered if working towards Level 3.
✔ Enhanced DBS check confirming suitability to work with children.
✔ Previous experience working with children.
✔ Commitment to diversity and equal opportunities.
✔ Passion for working with young children and families.
✔ Friendly, flexible approach with strong teamwork skills.
✔ Health clearance for the role.
✔ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
✔ Good customer awareness when interacting with parents and carers.
