We are looking for a talented, creative, and confident Paralegal to work in our Group Legal & Company Secretary team. You must have a passion for law and a curiosity for learning.
Candidates who demonstrate exceptional performance in the role will have an opportunity to undertake a training contract / qualifying work experience (under the SQE) with us, alongside completing the pre-requisite, post-graduate qualifications (funded by Admiral).
Main Duties
* Working with business teams across the Group under the supervision of Group Legal to provide support on a variety of legal issues.
* Assisting with the review, drafting and execution of a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents.
* Adopting a proactive approach to managing legal operations to help establish, evaluate and improve processes.
* Being a point of contact for ad-hoc legal queries and ensuring that requests are addressed in a timely manner.
* Organising and managing legal matters.
* Assisting with maintaining our company books and company secretarial duties.
* Helping to manage legal spend and working with external providers.
* Assisting with general administrative duties when required.
Key Skills, Experience And Qualifications
* A minimum of a 2.1 in an English law degree or a non-law degree (but having received at least a minimum of a Commendation in the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL)).
* An appetite to qualify as a solicitor practising in England and Wales and commitment to the high standards and effort required to study and train.
* Previous experience of working in a law firm, in-house legal department or financial services firm is desirable.
* Passion for the law and learning – you must have a genuine interest in the law and a curiosity to learn and apply what you have learnt in what you do.
* Outstanding communication skills – you make the complex simple, concise and digestible.
* Meticulous attention to detail, but you have a bias to action and get stuff done.
* The ability to operate independently and effectively in a dynamic environment and to navigate amid uncertainty.
* A can-do, problem-solving attitude – solving the problem is just as important as identifying the risk.
* Friendly and approachable, with a desire to contribute to the Admiral culture.
Location
This is a hybrid working role that requires the successful candidate to attend our Cardiff office 2-3 times per week.
