Main duties of the job
The post holder will effectively lead and co-ordinate the neonatal unit and take an active role in the management and care of babies and their families within the Neonatal Unit.
As a role model to junior staff and the wider team, you will be expected to actively participate in education and training, whilst providing pastoral support and mentorship to the team. You will demonstrate excellent clinical and managerial skills, be passionate about high quality care and have a good understanding of the Neonatal Networks.
The neonatal unit comprises of 3 intensive care, 2 high dependency, 13 special care and 4 transitional care cots.

Qualifications
* RN/RSCN/RCN/RM
* Specialist Intensive Care of Newborn Course
* Recognised course in teaching and assessing
* Evidence of leadership/management course
* Evidence of degree level study
Experience
* Extensive experience in working in Neonatal Care
* Proactive in change management with evidence of service development
* NLS
Communication and Relationship skills
* Proficient interpersonal skills - to include written, verbal, IT
* Ability to work as part of a large MDT
* Effective communication with all members of the MDT, patients, families and carers.
* Ability to work collaboratively
Knowledge and Training
* Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care without supervision
