Job summary We are inviting applications for a full-time post of Locum Consultant in Urology at Ipswich Hospital. The Urology Team at ESNEFT is located across two sites, Ipswich and Colchester. Whilst this role is primarily located at Ipswich Hospital there is an expectation of some cross site working. The Urology department currently consists of six Consultants. The department is also supported by a visiting paediatric urologist from Norfolk and Norwich University hospital, two higher surgical trainees (ST), three SAS doctors and one core surgical trainee (CT). This application is for a new post which has been created to meet the increasing demand which resulted in building additional infrastructure. Main duties of the job The appointee will have the responsibility of providing a wide range of core and diagnostic urological services. Candidates with a subspecialty interest in surgical andrology/female and reconstructive urology and experience with HoLEP will fit the need of the department. Every opportunity will be given to develop a subspecialty interest. Necessary support and mentoring will be provided within the unit. ESNEFT have invested in Robotics and this service is available on both sites. Urological robotic services at present are delivered from Colchester site which, in future may be delivered from Ipswich site as well.
