As a Digital and Technology solutions apprentice at CDL, you'll get an exhaustive introduction to the world of software development and receive training from an award-winning Apprenticeship provider.
Upon successful completion of the programme, you will achieve a BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions degree by Manchester Metropolitan University, as well as a Level 6-degree apprenticeship qualification.

Delivery: One study day per week at Manchester Met University, four days hybrid working, between home and our CDL Stockport campus.
Duration: 4 years
Salary: Starting at £20,000 per annum (rising to National Living Wage in year 2) and we’ll pay your student fees!
Key Responsibilities
The day-to-day role:
* You will be thoroughly involved in each step of the software development lifecycle, contributing to the engineering of innovative software solutions for the retail insurance market.
* Using agile development methodologies, you will work as part of a highly skilled team to analyse project requirements, and design secure and scalable solutions.
* Using some of the industry’s most desirable programming languages, you will build highly tested and well-written code bases, following industry best practices and design patterns.
* You will be responsible for deploying applications onto well-engineered, cloud-based infrastructure, and for maintaining these applications to the very highest standard.
* You will be working alongside, and supported by a team of experienced software engineers and will be a valued part of a highly collaborative, creative team.
You’ll work with people at every stage of their tech journey, from your cohort of apprentices to tech experts with decades of experience to their name. The taught units on the degree will complement work-based projects, where you’ll use real business challenges and scenarios from your new role in CDL as part of your degree.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
This programme is designed with professionals in mind, and this is reflected in our entry requirements. All applicants need to be employed with a supporting organization to be eligible.
* Be 18 or older.
* Have the right of abode and right to work in the UK to qualify for funding.
* Meet program entry requirements.
* Applicants should have a minimum of 104 points at A2 (grades BCC) or an equivalent, e.g. BTEC DMM.
* You also need GCSE Mathematics and English Language (grade A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent – or must complete Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications alongside the apprenticeship. There are no additional costs for these qualifications.
* Have a passion for software development.
* Are flexible and organized, with great time management skills.
* Are methodical and communicate well.
* Think logically, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem-solving; and
* Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions.
