Personal Assistant in CB25 £16.25 per hour We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Personal Assistant to provide tailored support to a young man with autism. The ideal candidate will have experience working with neurodivergent young adults, particularly those on the autism spectrum (ASD), and will offer guidance to foster the young man's independence. This role is for 3.5 hours per week – hours/days to be discussed at interview. Key Responsibilities: Monitor well-being and assist with establishing personal care routines (e.g., organizing laundry, encouraging tidiness in accommodation). No physical assistance required; the focus is on fostering independence. Support independence and motivational skills by helping the young man manage tasks and learn to thrive by providing 1-1 support with 'life skills' such as opening a bank account, interacting with email etc. Assist with social development and encourage opportunities to go for walks and interact with the community. Liaise with the young man's family to ensure the appropriate level of care and support is consistently maintained. Requirements: Experience working with neurodivergent young adults, especially those with ASD be highly beneficial to this role. Highly proficient in the use of IT and with numeracy to support the young man with managing money and interacting with a computer. Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide tailored support. Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with the young man and their family. Use of a vehicle plus clean driving license would be advantageous. Enhanced DBS Certificate required. Candidates should possess an existing certificate or be willing to obtain one at their own cost. Position Details: Part-time: 3.5 hours per week, all year around. Pay: £16.25 per hour, plus pro-rata annual leave.
