We are now seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to join the very successful PE and Games Department at our Stamford Schools, from September 2025.
The post would suit either a newly qualified teacher or a more experienced teacher seeking to develop their career. The successful candidate will teach academic GCSE and A Level PE along with BTEC Sport.
There is also an expectation that the role would include some delivery of Physical Education and Games sessions, and make a significant contribution across the major sports. Particular expertise in Netball and Hockey, would be of additional interest. A willingness to offer support to the extra curricular life of the school through coaching, training and weekend fixtures is assumed.
The Physical Education & Sports Department at Stamford School comprises of a team of 15 full time specialist teachers alongside a further seven full time sport specific specialist coaches and a number of external coaches. Our department offers a comprehensive academic programme, offering a range of qualification. This includes GCSE PE, A-Level PE, and BTEC Sport pathways, including the Diploma and Extended Diploma, as well as the Community Sports Leadership Award.
Facilities within SES are first class, with extensive playing fields with 8 rugby pitches, 2 grass cricket squares and 5 Astro strips, superb sports centre with 25m swimming pool (a second pool at the Junior School), as well as onsite physio provision, 3 floodlit hockey astros, 4 squash courts, 2 sports halls, gymnasium, 2 fitness suites, dance studio, spin studio, 16 floodlit hard tennis courts and 10 floodlit netball courts.

Essential Criteria
* Good honours degree in Sports Science/PE or related subject and postgraduate certificate in education (QTS).
* National Coaching Qualifications in one of our mass-participation sports (desirable).
* Experience of playing sport at a high level.
* Ability to teach PE to A-Level and BTEC Sport standard.
* Have the ability to teach a broad range of sports, specifically our mass-participation sports at an outstanding level. Expertise in netball and/or hockey is desirable.
* A willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life at the school.
* Be a collaborative team player who identifies with, and shows commitment to, the department philosophy raising participation and standards.
* Be a reflective classroom practitioner.
* Have a keen interest in pedagogical development and initiatives.
* Have a strong passion for sport and physical education and a genuine interest in the education of young people.
* Ability to work in a busy environment and meet priorities and deadlines.
* Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
* Ability to be efficient and organised, flexible and adaptable.
* Be competent in use of IT.
This role requires full time teaching hours during term time only, with Saturday fixtures an expectation. Stamford has its own salary scale and remuneration will depend on experience.
