Your new role
As Financial Management Accountant you will be responsible to the Senior Accountant Financial Management for the provision of a range of business support services to individual assistant directors, operational managers, budget managers within the relevant Directorates in order to achieve effective financial management and support the drive for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Support the senior accountant in maintaining effective financial control
2. Ensure that all relevant service and budget agreements, adjustments and funding for other service developments are accurately reflected within the Directorates budget
3. Support Directorate management teams in formulating plans for change
4. Assist with the provision of expert analysis, interpretation and evaluation of financial and non-financial data.
5. Assist with the monthly production of written assessment of the financial position for the Directorate
6. Assist with the annual budget setting
7. Assist with the production of regular and meaningful ie and expenditure information to budget manager
8. Assist in the development of cash releasing efficiency savings plan
9. Support the Senior Accountant in ensuring the effective implementation of allpany information management policies and procedures in the department.
10. Assist in preparing and writing financial performance report
11. Assist with the provision of management accounting information
12. Liaise with internal and external audit on matters relating to the financial management function as appropriate

What you'll need to succeed
13. Qualified Accountant with full membership of one of the professional accounting institutes
14. Minimum of 2 years experience in a Senior Finance position
15. Experience delivering against challenging financial planning and reporting agendas
16. Experience meeting key targets and deadlines
17. Effectivemunication skills with experience dealing with internal and external stakeholders
18. Excellent organisation skills
19. Excellent people management and leadership skills
What you'll get in return
You will work for a leading public sector organisation on a 12-month contracted basis. This is a full-time role and the Band 7 salary is £43,742.
