Job Description Engineering Operative Apprentice £15,210 Per Annum Wymondham, Suton, NR18 9SR Swarm Group is working with Gurney Reeve in their search for an Engineering Operative Apprentice. Responsibilities and Duties You will be working within the precision engineering department, assisting with the following duties: Follow general workshop practices Operating CNC lathes and mills Learn to produce work to a high standard by following set procedures Operating machines and understanding mechanisms Follow company rules and adhere to procedures and Health and Safety standards Programming offline and online Ability to fit and assemble components to engineering drawings Undertake basic assembly activities to assist testing processes and general requirements Working Week Working hours will be from 7:30am to 4pm, Monday to Thursday, 39 hours per week. Friday working hours will be from 7:30am to 3pm. The successful candidate will work towards the Level 2 Engineering Operative Qualification, this apprenticeship will take 12 - 18 months to complete with assessments. The level 2 Engineering Operative Standard includes spending 6 weeks at the Swarm REAGIT centre in Norwich. During these 6 weeks of intensive training, the apprentice will develop skills in: Health and Safety and workshop behaviours Hand tools and traditional engineering techniques Working with and understanding technical documentation After the 6 weeks, the apprentice will then attend the site 1 day per week for 16 weeks to complete the technical element of the apprenticeship.
