Position Summary Based in our Salford office, the General Ledger Accountant – GBS Shared Services EMEA will be part of a wider team responsible for the general ledger accounting for all Matthews International entities in Europe falling within the GBS (Global Business Services) team. Job Responsibilities Month end reporting tasks, including accurate calculation and input of journals along with supporting documentation Reconciliation of monthly sales, including accrued and deferred income adjustments Maintaining accruals and prepayments schedules Running WIP reports and liaising with individuals in the business to confirm accuracy Posting of bank transactions, and reconciliation of bank accounts Maintaining intercompany reconciliations and following up on differences Ensuring appropriate treatment and classification of fixed assets Reconciliation of balance sheet ledger balances in accordance with corporate deadlines, including inputting on to Blackline reconciliation tool Assist with SOX compliance and statutory audit requests Additional duties as assigned Qualifications / Requirements Part qualified, studying ACA, ACCA or CIMA Experience in similar accounting role (12-18 months) Extensive experience with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Microsoft Excel Knowledge and prior use of SAP preferable Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting. Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
