What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a Safeguarding Liaison Officer, who will be a motivated,organised and flexible individual who is able to take responsibility forsafeguarding children on behalf of the school.
You will ensure that every student thrives in a safe, inclusive andsupportive environment, ensuring that every child receives the support,protection and guidance they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ First point of contact for safeguarding concerns, providing timely andprofessional support.
✔️ Collaborate with external agencies, including social services, lawenforcement, and Family Intervention Service (FIS), to ensure studentwelfare.
✔️ Ensuring all staff in school are kept informed of safeguarding updatesto practice and procedures and induction is completed for new staff.
✔️ Attend Team Around the Child/ Family, Child in Need and ChildProtection meetings. Arrange and support FIS Advice Sessions.
✔️ Maintain accurate safeguarding records using CPOMS and trackconcerns effectively.
✔️ Advise and support staff with concerns.
✔️ Support vulnerable students and their families, including those facingpersonal challenges, mental health concerns, or difficult homecircumstances.
✔️ Deliver a regular lunchtime drop in for children that need support.
✔️ Contribute to school safeguarding policies, ensuring best practices areupheld across the academy.
✔️ Oversee school attendance across the school and report to theHeadteacher.
✔️ Ensure appropriate arrangements are in place to support parents andchildren in the smooth transition from primary to secondary school.
✔️ Contribute to Inclusion and staff meetings.
✔️ Utilise systems to support the role such as Arbor and CPOMS.

Our school was inspected in February 2023 and judged by OFSTED to bea Good school in all areas.
