We are looking for a Senior Data Quality Analyst to join our Collections & Recoveries - MIS Analytics team. Collections & Recoveries works to help members who have fallen behind on their mortgages, loans, or personal bank account payments. In MIS Analytics we are responsible for making sure our colleagues have the information they need to best serve these member’s needs.
As a Senior Data Quality Analyst, you will assume a key role in monitoring and reporting on the quality of data owned by and essential to the running of Collections & Recoveries. You will also support Collections & Recoveries compliance with the Data Governance policy & controls by assisting the department's Data Steward with the creation, definition and recording of business terms, data lineage, metadata, and business rules.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Northampton, Swindon, or London office. What you’ll be doing
In your day-to-day role as a Senior Data Quality Analyst, you will:
* Develop, implement, and maintain data quality processes and procedures to monitor and improve the quality of data.
* You will play a key role in the production and reporting of Data Quality Scorecards, including provisioning commentary on any large movements or discrepancies, tracking, and communicating known data quality issues and supporting issue management and prioritisation for fixing data quality issues.
* Contribute to process document sign off and maintenance, including completing monthly control checks with stakeholders to ensure team processes and reports are operating effectively.
* Maintaining an accurate log of the live processes within the MI Team including upkeep of the Enterprise Report Register with all critical and regulatory reporting the department is responsible for.
* Support compliance with the Data Governance policy and controls by assisting the department's Data Steward with the creation, definition and recording of business terms, data lineage, metadata, and business rules.
* Act as a primary point of contact for questions relating to data quality and governance.
* Utilising data quality knowledge to support the data cleaning and exploratory analysis for advanced analytics models.
* Contribute to the analytical capabilities in the team and promote best practices.
* Research and encourage the use of new methods, tools, technologies, and techniques in the team.
About you
We are looking for a Senior Data Quality Analyst with:
* A background in data quality, including issue management, with experience in data validation rule implementation.
* Experience in the financial services sector, not-for-profit or marketing industries.
* Experience of Data Governance Framework, tooling (e.g. Collibra) and best practices.
* Knowledge of Collections & Recoveries business processes, procedures, systems, and data.
* Report writing experience in applications such as MS Excel and PowerPoint.
* Experience with Power BI or Qlik Sense.
* Knowledge of data storage and transformation concepts and principles.
* Experience with at least one data handling or statistical application/language, ideally SAS (Base SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, Viya), SQL (Microsoft SQL Server Management) or Python (familiarity with libraries such as: pandas, Matplotlib, NumPy etc.).
* Effective stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in advanced analytics and statistical analysis techniques.
* BSc degree or equivalent experience.
